The tools. The help. The whole picture.

Much more than a place
to enter your expenses.

From the first statement to your year-end checks, UKTax helps turn everyday records into books you can understand.

Bank imports that cut the typing

Upload CSV statements and review the transactions together. Supported files can identify multiple accounts, while repeat-payment checks help you spot entries that need a closer look.

Keep each bank account and its records organised.

PayPal belongs in your books too

Import PayPal activity, including receipts, payments and fees. See currency balances separately and the GBP accounting value used in your books, with help to review conversions, refunds and transfers.

A clearer view of what came in and where it went.

Super-simple cost allocation

Choose the category, job or property, and VAT treatment right on the Entries page. Click Apply & process. Use matching entries to reduce repetition, and remember categories and properties for next time.

Less clicking. More consistency. You stay in control.

Your current profit & loss

See income, costs and profit from your processed records. Your profit and loss updates as you process entries, so you can check how the business is doing without waiting for year-end.

Useful numbers while you still have time to act.

Balance sheet help that tells you what is needed

Balance Sheet Interpretation puts assets, stock, debtors, cash, creditors and loans into a clear layout. Get practical help to find missing opening balances, supporting information and year-end checks.

See what is recorded and what still needs attention.

Projects, jobs and properties included

Allocate income and costs to a building job, client project, site, vehicle or holiday property. See the figures for each one. Use the module when you need it, within the same monthly package.

Understand the work behind the overall profit.

Invoices and recurring billing

Create clear invoices, print or download PDFs, and organise recurring invoices for regular customers. Record payments and keep unpaid customer and supplier balances in view.

Billing and bookkeeping in the same workspace.

VAT dates and filing preparation

Choose how often you file and the period start. The period end and usual deadline fill in for you. Review VAT against your invoices, see the return figures and export the filing workbook.

Practical support from VAT review to filing preparation.

Ask UKTax when you need a helping hand

20 Ask UKTax question credits each paid month. Unused credits roll over. Ask business and tax questions with official sources where appropriate, or request a yearly books review. A saved review can be reopened without using another credit.

Clear answers before you start

A few things you might want to know.

What does the monthly price include?

The features on this page are included for one company: bank and PayPal CSV imports, entry allocation, invoicing, recurring schedules, profit and loss, balance sheet help, projects and team access. 20 Ask UKTax question credits each paid month. Unused credits roll over.

Is VAT included in the headline price?

The headline price is £9.99 before VAT. At 20% VAT, the total is £11.99 per company per month, including VAT.

Can I try it before I pay?

Yes. The free trial lasts 30 days. Stripe verifies your card without taking a trial payment. When the 30-day trial ends, you choose whether to subscribe. There is no automatic subscription charge.

Do I need all my company information to begin?

You need your basic account and company sign-up details, plus card verification to activate the free trial. You can explore before completing business onboarding. Gather the additional information when you are ready to use your own records fully.

Are projects, jobs and properties an extra charge?

No. The project module is included. Use it to allocate income and costs to jobs, client projects, sites, vehicles or properties when that helps your business.

Do bank and PayPal imports need a live account connection?

The import tools work with CSV files you export from your bank or PayPal. Importing those files does not require your bank or PayPal password. You review the entries before processing them.

What help is available with the yearly books?

Balance Sheet Interpretation helps show what is recorded and what information is still needed. The Ask UKTax yearly books review uses one credit, creates a practical report and saves it so reopening it uses no more credits. Accountant review can help with judgements, adjustments and final accounts.

How do I file a VAT return?

VAT calculations, date planning and filing workbook preparation are included. Export the workbook for your external filing service. Direct HMRC VAT filing requires production approval; professional filing services and their charges are separate from this software subscription.

Can my team or accountant use UKTax?

Yes. Invite colleagues and your accountant into the company workspace without a charge per user. If you manage several companies, one login can access separate company workspaces; each company has its own subscription.

What happens when the trial ends?

When the 30-day trial ends, you choose whether to subscribe. There is no automatic subscription charge. If you choose not to subscribe, your company records remain available to view and export. A paid subscription restores entry and editing access.

Clearer books. More room for your business.
